Authorization for the import of used clothing.

It is the responsibility of health department heads to approve requests for the warehousing of used clothing, postal packages containing clothing in the same condition, originating from abroad, following an ocular inspection carried out by assigned inspectors to determine compliance with the current sanitary requirements.

2: For the purposes mentioned in the previous article, used clothing must meet the following requirements.

A) Properly fumigated in the national territory before warehousing, which implies that packages containing used clothing must be opened for effective insecticide impregnation.

B) Properly ironed.

C) Sprayed with an insecticide.

D) Accompanied by a fumigation certificate from the country of origin complying with the corresponding legal procedures.
